Pattern:Cymbidium hat

Needle: 3mm and 3,5mm dpn
Yarn: Pirtin kehräämön Karstalanka 140 TEX x 2

Cast 144 sts on the smaller dpn. Knit 4 cm rib(2k,2p). When rib is knitted change to 3,5mm needles and continue to knit until your hat is about 17-20cm. Start decresing. Decreasing is dune on every second row like this. You have 36sts on every needle, knit the 2 sts of the needle together, then knit the sts normally until you are on the middle of the needle, then knit the 2 middle sts together and then knit normally until you have 2 sts left on the needle. Now knit these 2 sts together. Do the decreses on all 4 needles. Then knit 1 row withouth decreses and the do a decrese row again. The decreses are always dune on the same place. When you have 36 sts left cut the yarn and pull the yarn trow the remaining sts. Fasten off. The hat is ready.

Pattern: Elin

Yarn: about 50g of Novita isoveli and 25 g of Novita Puro. Both yarns are bulky, gauge is 15s/10 cm/4 inch, using needle 5-6mm(1 skein of puro and isoveli is enough for 2 Elin hats)
Needle: 5mm for rib and 5,5mm for the rest of the hat. I used dpn, but a short circular should be OK too.
Fits: normal adult head (women)

Cast on 80sts in Isoveli(or in the chosen yarn, solid color). Knit 5 rows of rib, then start with pattern. The pattern is very simple(fair isle/2 color knitting)2 sts solid,2 sts color. 1 row is repeated twice and the you simply reverce the colors(see picture)

solid, solid, color, color row 4
solid, solid, color, color row 3
color, color ,solid ,solid row 2
color ,color ,solid ,solid row 1

Do like this until your hat is about 18cm(or desired length), then it is time to decrease. I knitted two together every second row but still in pattern= after 1 decrease you have 1 sts solid,1 sts color. Do like this every 2nd row and remember to change colors so that the hat has 2 colors, if you think it is easier to do the decreases in one color the just stop knitting the pattern when it is time to decrease and just continue with one color (solid).

If you have some questions or did not understand this pattern, please contact me.

Elin suomeksi:

Koko: Aikuinen (naisen)
Luo 80s Novita Isoveli langalla. Neulo 5 riviä joustinneuletta. Vaihda puikot ja aloita kirjoneule. kuvio on hyvin helppo. Aloita yksivärisellä langalla. Neulo 2 s oikein, lisää toinen väri ja neulo tällä värillä 2 s oikein. Jatka samalla lailla.

Pipo on valmis.

Jos on jotain kysyttävää ottakaa yhteyttä.

Pattern:Defne scarf

Needed: Leftover yarn in similar colors/colors that go good together.
Use 1 main type of yarn, can be in different colors. My main type of yarn is Novita Puro (color: kaarna). I added 2 skeins of Drops Delight(in color 02)(all 3 yarns crocheted at the same time(triple yarn). Both yarns have are brown, so go good together)

Crochet hook: nr 6(or use the hook size that is suggested for the main type of yarn)
Make a slip knot using a 3 yarns and do 30 chain stitches (with triple yarn(1 Puro+2 Drops delight).Join the chain to a circle with one slip stitch. Crochet the first double crochet (dc)/Treble(tr) in the 3 chain sts and continue to do dc/tr crochet in every chain sts(=27dc/tr). Continue like this until desired length. Wholaa, you have a super warm scarf in several colors, that is much more warmer, because it is made with several yarns and still with a "normal" sized hook.

Pattern:Boyfriends winter hat

My dearest boyfriend is always complaining that his hats aren´t warm enough. Therefore I took the matter in my own hands and design a warm winter hat for him. This time I did it with double yarn so that it would become warmer. The chosen yarn for the project was SandnesGarn Easy(2 skeins)(had it in my stash) and Mondial Merino Sport yarn(1 skein)( also for the same reason). If you don’t have these yarns you can use another super bulky yarn and thinner yarn. The important thing is that the super bulky yarn is Wool so that the hat is warm and that you use needles that are not thicker then recommended for the yarn.

Here is the pattern:
Yarns: Sandnes Garn Easy 2 skeins and 1 skein Mondial Merino Sport yarn
Needles: 8mm double pointed needles or 8 mm circular needle (40cm)
Cast on 56 stitches and knit 1, purl 1.( don’t think the 1st rounds too tight otherwise the hat will not fit ), knit 1,purl 1 until you reached 21-23 cm. Then it is time for decreases. Do the decreases like this:
1st decreasing round: knit 2 together (after this you have no purl stitches). Knit 1 round without decreases.
2nd decrease round: knit 2 stitches and the knit 2 together (knit like this the whole round). Knit 1 round without decreases.
3rd decreases round: knit 2 together. After this you should have 10 stitches left. Pull the yarn through the remaining stitches and Whoooolaaaaa you have ready hat.

Pattern:Lingonberry toe-up socks (2 at the same time)

Lingonberry toe-up socks (2 at the same time)

If you are not familiar with the toe-up technique I highly suggest that you try to find a pattern that explains all the phases carefully. Another option is to read/look at YouTube/a book what the technique is all about and do my lingonberry toe-up -socks. Before starting this project you must know how to cast on a toe-up sock, how to knit a short row heel(no gusset heel) and how to knit 2 socks a the same time. When you fulfill all this my sock pattern is really easy.

Yarn: The sample socks were made with “ Novita Nalle Marjaretki”, but the socks can be done with any DK yarn(22s/10 cm). You will need 2 skeins of the yarn. The sample socks are only ankle socks and a pair of socks needed a total of 62 gram of Nalle Marjaretki yarn. If you want the cuff to be higher you should have more yarn then this. I also might add that I have small feet, so if your shoe size is bigger then 37, it naturally means that you will need more yarn then this.

Needles: I made the sample socks using an 80 cm long circular needle of size 3,5mm. If you have a needle that is longer I highly recommend you to use it, it is a bit tricky to have a shorter needle.

Pattern: Cast on 8 stitches on both needles (totally 16sts) using the magic loop technique. Then cast on the second sock using the same way. After cast on turn the needles so that you are faced with the “right side”(does not look like purl bumps, the purl side will become the wrong side of the sock). Before starting to knit, lock the stitches (moving the yarn tail around the working yarn)

Round 1: Now knit Sock A and then Sock B side 1. Then rotate the needles so that you can knit the other side (careful not to rotate that the wrong side is facing) Then knit side 2 through the back loops.
Round 2(increases): K1, M1R, knit until you have one stitch remaining (on Sock A) then M1R and knit the last stitch. Do the same on sock B, turn and knit side 2 of sock A and B the same way. You should now have 20 sts.
Next rounds: Knit like round 1 and 2 until you have reach 48 stitches. Then comes the easy part, just knit round and round stock knitting until you reached about 13-14cm(5-5,5 inch) from the end of the toe increases. Now it is time for the heel. As mentioned earlier I made a short row heel. This is how I made it:

Heel: Heel is made on side 2 with 24 sts and the heels are made separately, first you knit sock B:s heel and after it is dune you knit sock A:s heel the same way. Knit side 1 normally on sock A and be and then knit the heel like this:
Row 1: sl 1, knit 22, turn
row 2: sl 1,purl 21, turn . Work like this until you have 9 “live stitches”/ knitted sts remaining after the slipped sts. This it is time for the heel turn rows.
Heel turn row 1: sl1,knit 8,turn
heel turn row 2: sl 1, purl 8 turn. You will always knit one slipped sts in the end(meaning that you increase the sts, until you are back to 24 sts) The heel is dune when you have made all the stitches knitted(24). Then knit Sock A:s heel the same way.
After this you will continue normally to knit with all 48 sts( if you notice that there is a huge gap between side 1 and 2 after the heel, you can add 1 sts by lifting the loop between side 1 and 2, but remember to decrease the stitches away on the next round so that you only have 48 sts on the cuff. ) The sample sock did not have a big hole(avoided if you pull when knitting the heel).

I only wanted a low cuff, so I only knitted 8 cm in stock knitting and then finished it with 6 rounds of 2k,2p rib. The advantage of toe-up socks is that you can knit the cuff until you are out of yarn. This is your chose. But it is better to have a bit of ribbing in the end(will make the socks stay in place). After reaching the desired length cast off and you should have a pair of socks. Good luck, and please contact me in case you find some errors in the pattern.
